Writer's Block: Meant to Be?

Do you believe in fate? Why or why not?
Only in the general sense. I certainly think generally what you throw out will come back to you - good or ill. I also tend to think that humanity in general has a greater 'fate' than any individual - which is why I don't buy any of the "end times" theories/fears/beliefs. I think "God, if you will" has a greater destiny in mind for us that self-destruction... what that is exactly, I'm not sure except for being a greater force for development of the universe along positive lines than what it appears looking at the state of the world today. Of course, there's always that 'free will' thing that keeps us from meeting the greater challenge in anything but baby-steps.
