So ready for summer, but this is about salmon....

The largest of the Pacific species, the Chinook salmon are an important food source for marine mammals, bears, birds, and other fish. Along the California coast, however, their population is declining due to threats from overfishing, habitat loss, and human development.

There is a new concerted effort by scientists to find a way to route colder water downstream from dams to help embyos survive longer, and therefore successfully develop into actual fish.

Current Mood: I'm feeling very random, today. And blah. Very blah.
