Hey. Welcome to another edition of 'Best Of / Worst Of Character Moments' in the Buffyverse. This time, we're going to take a look at our characters in BTVS, Season 10, Issue 06.
Our main players who will try to remind us their heroes, and now zeroes are: Buffy, Teen-Giles, Xander, Willow, Dawn, and Spike.
Our Characters Really Are Heroes!
Buffy- I'll give Buffy a Half-KUDO for breaking the spell over her mind, but she nearly sliced Willow and Xander first, so it's really a wash.
Rupert- No kudos for Giles.
Xan- Xander, mostly to be funny but still, is the first one to twig to the fact that the illusory trap is all about fake happy family time, because his parents are ridiculously over the top supportive. KUDO to not even being fooled for a second, and not even being tempted to be seduced by the trap.
Willow- Wills also figured out something is wrongo in the illusion, but she only gets a Half-KUDO because it still took meeting up with Xander for her to really snap to reality.
Dawn- Dawnie choosing to follow her sister's lead over her fake mom & dad earns her a Half-KUDO.
Spike- I'm not handing Spike a kudo for breaking out of the illusion. Basically, if it wasn't for the clear memory he had of staking his vampire mother, his fake-mom would've gotten sway over him again. And then his blaming her for his getting turned by Dru kinda put it over the line. No kudos.
Well, Heroes Except...
Buffy- Oh, Buffy. It's nice you snapped out of it before slicing Willow and Xander's head off, but the fact that your dad was telling you to kill a high school boy for being "bad news" really should've clued you in a LOT sooner. Half-DEMERIT
Giles- Poor, Giles. But he still would've stayed in the illusion if given a fair choice, and that can only earn a DEMERIT.
Xander- Hmm. Okay, I know it's meant to be funny, but the way Xan just jumps to the conclusion that Giles' money will bail everyone out is kind of douchey. Half-DEMERIT, Xan.
Wills- No demerits for Willow.
Dawn- Dawn doesn't earn a demerit.
Spike- Spike isn't earning a demerit, either.
