I just watched the "encore" (read repeat) of The Killing....
(Warning: This entry also discusses some non-specific [as far as how things progress] story revelations for ST:TNG, S3, Supernatural: S6 (and Eric is a fan of BTVS, no doubt about it), BTVS: S2 & S6, Twin Peaks ( I don't remember... I think it was the finale of S1, but it may have stretched in S2).
HOLDER?! YOU DID NOT BETRAY YOUR PARTNER AND FRAME AN INNOCENT MAN!!
And, here I was thinking "How in the hell can this go to a 2nd season?"
I have fears of Twin Peaks, following the solving of Laura's murder in my head. But, this new wrinkle... OMG. I'm just... I'm stunned. The good way stunned... not the way in which a dwarf dances in a red room and a main cast member gets 'entrapped?' in a dresser drawer handle. The great way, in fact, like in the "Picard was turned into a Borg?! Riker orders the Enterprise to destroy the Cube?!" and "WAIT, ANGEL KILLED JENNY?!!" way.
I am just... wow. Even better than the 'Cas is really the Big Bad' and 'Willow is really the big bad' revelations, this one took me by surprise. I don't think the new Mayor is really the killer, but wow - did not see Linder's partner turning on her to get her out of town. Oh, and Michelle Forbes? Still rocks my socks off.
Jeezuss. In fact, I have to say that most of the cast has made the most of their parts, and I've really come to love both Mireille Enos' portrayal of Detective Linden, Billy Campbell's mayoral candidate, I mean... jeez, I could just name all of the primary and secondary cast.
Somehow, I think this is even better than "The Walking Dead", and that has zombies in it! Plus it has Andrew Lincoln, who I developed an insta-crush on in "Afterlife" ... a British series.
Thank you AMC. Thank you! TV needed an effing booster shot and you've given it. I'm awestruck.
