More ice problems -
U.S. Coast Guard icebreakers Mackinaw and Biscayne Bay are working alongside Canadian ship Griffon to clear ice in southern Lake Huron, while the U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker Neah Bay is working in the north and middle channels near Harsens Island.
I thought I was going to get trapped on the island, but the ferry ran for an hour this morning. I was able to grab a bag and beat feet to my parent's. It appears that I'm not going to be going home tomorrow, either.
Thank goodness for the up-to-datedness of the H.I. blog, or I would have missed the window to run - and much as I would really like to be trapped on the island (if I could afford it, I'd be a shut-in), well - there's that pesky mortgage thing to think about (oh, by the way TimesHerald editor, North and Middle Channel are proper names - and ergo should be capitalized).
