Best Of / Worst Of Character Moments:

BTVS, Season 8, Issue 20

This issue in the Buffy saga is a step-back and cooldown issue and as such there won't be much to be able to issues either kudos nor demerits over. In fact, this particular issue it wouldn't shock me if we have nothing to explore. You see, much of this issue is in dreamland, and as such, we can't really judge our characters' behaviors. It just doesn't work.

But, I don't want to skip an entry on the issue either. I guess I'll just have to read the issue again anyway.

The issue is really about Buffy trying to make sense and come to grips with the fact that she had to kill Willow, and she can't talk about it. She desperately wants to be back in Sunnydale when things seemed much more simple than they are now.

Our focus characters are: Actually, I'm tempted to just put down everyone as a cameo and forget the whole thing -- but Buffy and Xander do get enough panel space outside of dream-time to list. Everybody else is still a cameo, though.

Our Characters - Yah, Baby!

Buffy- Buffy does a lot of ass-kicking, but we don't get to see any of the battles - just the killing blow. It's to emphasize how tired she is and how she hasn't been getting enough {any?} sleep. As such, I can't really issue any kudos for Slayer-biz as usual without more context.

Xander- Xander also doesn't get a kudo, as his scenes are all dialog about Buffy crashing all filthy in his bed, instead of her own.

Our cameo cast doesn't distinguish themselves for a kudo.

Our Characters - No, No!!

Buffy- Buffy doesn't earn herself a demerit. I wish she'd talk about her experiences to the Gang... especially Willow, who I think would completely understand. I have to think that Willow has done a lot of "what if" about her S6 rampage and actually hopes Buffy would stop her the next time. But this is about Buffy -- no demerits.

Xander- Xander doesn't do anything to anger.

And, we've also no demerits to hand out to the supporters.

Maybe our next Angel issue will have more to ponder....
